Philip and James, Apostles
martyred apostles
Philip was from Bethsaida.
Biography
It was this apostle who announced to Nathanael that he had found the Messiah. From the story of the multiplication of the loaves, it can be deduced that he is quick-witted in quickly calculating the money needed - about 200 denarii - to alleviate the hunger of the people gathered there. He intervenes in the episode of the Greek pilgrims, pious Gentiles, who wish to see Jesus. It is also Philip who asks the Lord, in the Upper Room, to show him the Father. James, a relative of Jesus, is called “the Lesser,” to distinguish him from John's brother. He was the first bishop of Jerusalem and developed intense missionary activity. He died a martyr in Jerusalem around the year 62. He is the author of one of the Catholic Epistles. It is necessary to spread the same message that the Apostles preached.
Practical advice
In a spirit of service, accept a setback without complaining, putting the result in God's hands.
