Fermin (4th century)
Priest
When Fermín was little, his father, Senator Firmo, and his mother, converted to Christianity through the preaching of San Saturnino and the priest Honesto.
Biography
Fermín, his family and forty thousand other people were baptized in just three days. Honesto continued to be Fermín's teacher in his new religion, and he did it so well that by the age of seventeen Fermín was already a notable preacher. A few years later he received episcopal consecration and left for France where he evangelized the regions of Aquitaine, Auvergne, Beaubais and Amiens, where persecution against Christians was particularly harsh. He achieved so many conversions that he was put in prison and discreetly murdered, spreading the version that he had died of cardiac arrest. In Pamplona they celebrate San Fermín on July 7.
Practical advice
Trusting in God's grace, avoid criticism and speak with charity about someone who has hurt you as someone who works and prays under the loving gaze of God.
