Fermin (+303)

Tradition has it that Fermín was born in Pamplona, Spain, at that time a completely pagan city.
Biography
Saint Saturninus baptized the first Christians there, including Fermín. He settled in French Tolosa, where he was ordained a priest and was finally consecrated as the first bishop of Pamplona. He then dedicated himself to evangelizing Gaul, Picardy and the Netherlands. He died beheaded in Amiens. His relics were taken to Pamplona, where since the end of the 16th century his festival has been celebrated with great noise and merriment.
