Flavian

Bishop

Saint Flavian Patriarch of Constantinople (446-449), attended a council in Ephesus convened by Theodosius II, on August 8, 449.

Biography

When they were talking about the heretic Eutyches and his Monophysite doctrine, a group of soldiers, sailors and the occasional heartless monk entered the church and overwhelmed the council fathers gathered there. That day this collection of scoundrels decreed that there was only one nature in Jesus Christ. As they were especially angry with Patriarch Flavianus, they put him in a prison, where he died a few days after the so-called "sack of Ephesus."

Practical advice

In the midst of your ordinary work, repeat an ejaculation while doing simple work as one who works and prays under the loving gaze of God.
