Flora and Maria (+851)
Martyrs
Flora was a young woman from Córdoba, Spain, who heard Jesus say to her: "There are many mansions in my Father's house; come to our house, and you will be welcomed." Flora went to surrender to the Mohammedan judge.
Biography
When he entered the church of Santa Aciscla to say a last prayer, he met María, a young nun his age whose brother had just been martyred. Both appeared before the court, and the judge, having tried in vain to make them apostatize, sentenced them to be beheaded.
Practical advice
In a spirit of service, offer a small delicacy to the Virgin and try to imitate her availability by placing the result in the hands of God.
