Biography
Young Congolese layman, Floribert Bwana Chui, was murdered for refusing to allow a corrupt operation that would have put the lives of many people at risk. Formed in the faith and committed to the Community of Sant'Egidio, he especially served street children in Goma. As a customs control official, he rejected bribes to authorize the entry of spoiled food. He was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in July 2007; His fidelity shows that professional honesty can become a supreme testimony of the Gospel.
