Francisca de Paula de Jesús “Nhá Chica” (1810–1895)

Brazilian laywoman, daughter of an enslaved woman who was illiterate throughout her life, Francisca de Paula de Jesús was known as “Nhá Chica” or “Aunt Francisca.” Orphaned since she was young, she chose to live poorly, dedicated to prayer and serving those who came to her small house.
Biography
He shared food, comfort and advice with rich and poor, humbly attributing all help to the Virgin Mary. With the alms received, he built a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Conception.
