Francisco de Paula, hermit (1416–1507)
Hermit
From a very young age he heard God's call to dedicate his life as a hermit living alone in a cave, meditating on the Passion of the Lord and leading a mortified life.
Biography
He was followed by a good number of people, who camped near his cave. This was the origin of the Order of Minims (1493). An austere life is always exemplary.
Practical advice
In a spirit of service, make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, even if it is brief, with peace, perseverance and good humor.
