Francis Fernández de Capillas
Dominican missionary priest and martyr
A seventeenth-century Spanish Dominican priest, he evangelized first in the Philippines and then in China.
Biography
During a persecution, he was imprisoned and beheaded for remaining faithful to Christ; he is regarded as the protomartyr of China.
