Redemptorist missionary priest
Priest born in Füssen, Germany, on January 11, 1819.
Biography
After professing as a Redemptorist in 1842, he went to the United States the following year, where he developed an intense apostolate in favor of German-speaking emigrants. He died at the age of 48 in New Orleans, on October 4, 1867, caring for those infected with yellow fever. Francisco Javier was for all people the missionary with a generous heart and a permanent smile on his lips. He was beatified on April 9, 2000.
