Vietnamese priest, Francisco Javier Trương Bửu Diệp was parish priest of Tắc Sậy and served numerous missionary communities in a region marked by war.
Biography
When the violence increased, his followers asked him to get to safety, but he responded that he was a shepherd and was willing to die with his flock. Captured along with several parishioners, he offered his life so that they could be released. He was murdered in 1946. His memory remains alive among Christians and people of other religions, who recognize in him a dedicated intercessor and pastor.
