Gelasius (5th century)
Pope
He was elected pontiff in the year 492 and reigned for four and a half years, distinguishing himself for his energy.
Biography
He wrote numerous pastoral letters to condemn heresies that denied original sin, the double nature of the Word and the primacy of the seat of Rome over that of Constantinople. For this reason, his pontificate, although short-lived, has marked the history of the ancient Church. He was also known as "father of the poor", because for him charity meant two things: being of iron guarding God's inheritance and of wax and honey for the needs of his brothers.
Practical advice
When beginning your work, attend first to those who need your time most and end with a brief thanksgiving.
