Bishop
Bishop of Constantinople.
Biography
He was part of the clergy of Saint Sophia, and fought against Monophysitism and Monothelism, doctrinal currents that did not accept anything more in Christ than a nature and a will. He was bishop of Cizico; In 715 he was transferred to the patriarchal see of Constantinople. He worked for Christian unity, and for the defense of the city against the Arabs.
