She was born in Cologne, Germany to poor parents and at a very young age entered the Premostense convent.
Biography
Before being ordained a priest he was a sacristan and could not have wished for anything better because this way he could be near the Blessed Sacrament all day. Once a priest, he was commissioned to direct several convents of contemplative nuns and he composed several treatises on piety for them. Regarding his own spiritual experiences, he wrote, like so many other mystics, a commentary on the Song of Songs. He suffered continuous headaches that worsened violently during liturgical solemnities. This led him to say "I know someone who is not celebrating on holidays. Despite this illness and many others, he lived to the age of ninety. He always had a very special devotion to the Blessed Virgin and his life was full of visions and ecstasies.
