Germana Cousin
Religious
Germain Cousin can be called “the Cinderella of Saints”.
Biography
She was born in a small town near Toulouse, France, and when she was orphaned, she had to go live with her older brother whose wife always treated her with great harshness and contempt for being a crippled and scrupulous sister. She was sent to take care of the flock and there, among the sheep, she spent her days praying and having long conversations with God and the Virgin. The town priest entrusted him with catechism work for the children and he also endured mockery and abuse from them with gentleness and patience. When he died, at the age of 22, numerous miracles occurred and his tomb became a center of pilgrimages in the region. She is the patron saint of shepherdesses.
Practical advice
Trusting in the grace of God, exercise authority as a service and not as a privilege with peace, perseverance and good humor.
