Gianna Beretta Molla (1922–1962)

Italian doctor, wife and mother, Gianna Beretta Molla lived her profession as a mission at the service of mothers, children, the elderly and the poor.

Biography

He participated in Catholic Action, enjoyed sports and formed a deeply Christian family with Pietro Molla. During her fourth pregnancy, a uterine tumor was discovered; She asked that the intervention be chosen that would preserve her daughter's life, even at greater risk to her. The girl was born healthy and Gianna died a few days later from complications. Her decision was the fruit of a lifetime of faith, medical responsibility and maternal love.
