Gildas or Gildosio, the Wise
confessor of faith
(500-570) Saint Gildas is the saint of Brittany, Wales, Cornwall and Ireland, where he displayed great apostolic zeal.
Biography
Throughout his life he distinguished himself by converting many souls and reforming numerous monasteries. From him we preserve the oldest known work on the history of England: On the Ruin and Conquest of Britain.
