Gregory the Wonderworker (Year 268)
Bishop
Born in Neocesarea del Ponto near the Black Sea to a noble and pagan family, his parents directed him to study law.
Biography
He traveled to Palestine and there he met Origen who had a school of Theology and he entered it. He decides to leave the legal profession and devote himself to religious studies and God. Some time later he returns to his hometown. There he becomes a bishop and begins a long chain of miracles (Taumaturg means: he does many miracles). He converted many men to Christianity, until he had to build a new temple, but at that time there was no land in his city. So great was his faith that he said: "Let's see if what Jesus said is true: "if you have faith, you will be able to say to a mountain: get away from there! – and this one will obey." And he began to pray with great faith, and an earthquake occurred and the hill collapsed, leaving a good esplanade there to build the temple.
Practical advice
Trusting in the grace of God, correct with charity a fault that should not be ignored with external order and internal recollection.
