Blessed Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri (1916–1975)

Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri was a Spanish chemist, teacher, and member of Opus Dei.
Biography
She met Saint Josemaría Escrivá in 1944 and discovered a call to seek holiness in professional work and ordinary life. She helped begin Opus Dei’s apostolic work among women in Mexico, where she served with courage, warmth, and friendship. Later she returned to Spain, completed a doctorate in chemistry, taught and carried out research, while living with a serious heart condition. Her contagious joy, competence, concern for each person, and love for God made an enduring impression on those around her.
