William Repin and 98 fellow martyrs
Martyrs
These martyrs of the diocese of Angers accepted death to preserve their faith and religion during the French Revolution.
Biography
They were priests who refused to take an oath that they considered schismatic and who did not want to abandon their pastoral position, as well as lay people who remained faithful to these priests, to the Mass celebrated by them and to the manifestations of worship of Saint Mary and the saints. When they were interrogated in court, their determined, calm, brief, frank, humble responses were admirable, which did not contain any provocation and which were blunt and firm in what was essential: fidelity to their faith and to the Church.
Practical advice
Without seeking recognition, wholeheartedly forgive a specific offense with peace, perseverance and good humor.
