Hanna Chrzanowska (1902–1973)

Polish nurse, Hanna Chrzanowska turned her profession into an organized apostolate at the service of the chronically ill, poor and abandoned in their homes.
Biography
During the Second World War she cared for orphans, displaced people and persecuted people, despite having lost her father and brother. He later developed parish nursing in collaboration with priests, volunteers and students, and trained generations of professionals in comprehensive care. Cardinal Karol Wojtyła supported his work and recognized in it an embodiment of the blessedness of mercy.
