March 20
Heriberto (+687)
Hermit
She lived as an anchorite on the lake island of Dervenwater, Cumberland, England.
Biography
He was a disciple and great friend of the famous Saint Cuthbert. Every year they spent a few days together on an island in the same lake, Fare. Cuthbert had his residence there. On one occasion, he told his friend: "Dear Heriberto, if you want to ask me for anything, do it, because we will not see each other again down here. God has revealed to me that I will die soon." Heriberto began to cry: “I beg you, take me with you to heaven, if I don't see you again, I will be the most unfortunate of men.” Cuthbert got down on his knees and prayed for a long time. Then he got up and told him: "Don't cry anymore, dear Heriberto, it will be as you want. God has heard us." They died, in fact, a few weeks later, apparently on the same day and at the same time.
