Ignatius of Santhià (1686–1770)

Italian Capuchin, preacher and trainer, Ignatius of Santhià renounced honorary positions to embrace a life of humility and service.
Biography
Ordained a diocesan priest, he refused two benefices and joined the Capuchins in 1716. He was master of novices and spiritual guide to numerous religious. An eye illness forced him to leave training; During the war he cared for wounded soldiers as a chaplain and later spent years confessing, counseling and visiting the sick in Turin. His hidden work showed that the true apostolic fruit comes from prayer and availability.
