While she was still a child, her father died but she always found love and support with her mother and her sister Margarita. Isabel was growing and her character was being discovered. She herself would later confess in her letters her “terrible genius.” His furies, his explosions, his dominant character will be the battlefield throughout his life. At the same time he had a loving and faithful heart. Being a very devout young woman, she also knew how to enjoy all the good things that life offers and was a great lover of nature. From the age of 14, she chose Jesus as her only husband and joined him by the vow of virginity. Although she had wanted to enter Carmel, her mother did not allow it, and she obeyed. When she turned 21, she was finally allowed to enter the convent with the name of Sister Isabel de la Trinidad. And indeed she was: most loving daughter of the Holy Trinity. She discovered her vocation in the Church: to be “a praise of glory” to God. To the point that this French mystic took it as a symbolic name: laudem gloria, and she signed some of her letters with this name.
