He is the youngest of four brothers, all of whom were saints and three of them bishops.
Biography
He succeeded his brother Leandro as bishop of Seville. Cultured and wise man. He wrote a lot. Their “Etymologies” are well known. He was the main figure of the Council of Toledo (633). He was very concerned that the clergy were very well educated. It is necessary to have a good cultural and doctrinal training and this can only be achieved with an orderly and constant study.
