Jacinta (+1640)
Franciscan nun
Saint Jacinta (+1640) Jacinta is a saint who had two conversions in her life: from being a frivolous and worldly woman, she became a nun, and from a life of relaxation and little fervor in the convent to a life of great holiness.
Biography
The second conversion was the result of a serious illness that he suffered at the age of 30, when he felt himself at the doors of the tomb. He offered his pains to God to forgive him and sent for a priest. This Franciscan was very strict and when he arrived at his cell and saw it full of luxuries and decorations he told him that he was not living as a Franciscan nun. Jacinta renounced all her whims and from then on lived as the poorest and most humble of the sisters, doing great penances for her sins. She was a teacher of novices, with whom she was very kind and understanding. He founded two pious associations: the Company of Penitents and the Oblates of Mary. These people dedicated themselves to visiting the sick, instructing children in religion and making amends to God for the offenses done to him. The saint greatly propagated the custom of 40 hours of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The Lord granted him the gift of moving hearts, even the hardest and most inveterate, thus achieving many conversions.
Practical advice
Today, in the presence of God, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests doing everything for the love of God.
