Biography
Being bishop of Benevento, he was martyred not far from Rome, in 305. In the 5th century his remains were moved to Naples. The city appointed him protector. Each year, part of his solidified blood, stored in a vial, is expected to be transformed by the miracle of liquefaction. Rio de Janeiro has made the cult of Saint Jannaro famous. One more example of how our sacrifices and even death, have great effectiveness.
