Joaquina de Vedruna de Mas (1783–1854)

Wife, mother, widow and Spanish founder, Joaquina de Vedruna showed that holiness can grow in very different states of life.
Biography
Born in Barcelona, she married Teodoro de Mas and had eight children, whom she educated Christianly. Widowed since 1816, she cared for her family and the poor for years. Later, with the guidance of the Capuchin Esteban de Olot, he founded the Carmelites of Charity in Vic, dedicated to education and care of the sick. Wars, exile and illness did not stop his work. He lived seeking at every stage to simply fulfill the will of God.
