Jorge
Secular
Saint George died in Clermont-Ferrand around the year 500.
Biography
Could the precious miracle that occurred during the saint's burial be true? That day a flight of pigeons accompanied his last departure from home to church. They withdrew during the mass so as not to distract those attending and reappeared when the funeral procession headed to the cemetery, hovering around the body until it was buried. Only then did they return to heaven from where they came, because those doves were angels sent by God to honor the virginal purity of his servant. As for the life that Jorgina led, we can say that it did not fit with the noisy and hectic city that was Clermont. That is why he retired very soon to a field he owned on the outskirts, and there he spent the rest of his life in familiar contact with God, praying and doing penance.
