Biography
Italian priest, rector of the Consolata sanctuary in Turin and trainer of priests, José Allamano renewed that spiritual center and founded the Missionaries of the Consolata. Although his health prevented him from personally going to mission lands, he trained and sent evangelizers to Africa and other continents. He insisted that they should be saints first and then missionaries, working with preparation, unity and charity. His fruitfulness sprang from a hidden priestly life, from prayer and patient care for vocations.
