Biography
Italian priest, José Beotti was murdered by Nazi forces after protecting persecuted people, fugitive soldiers, partisans and Jews without distinction. Parish priest of Sidolo during the Second World War, he attended to the spiritual and material needs of everyone and helped nearly a hundred Jews escape. When German troops retaliated in the area, he decided to stay with his people and spent the night praying in church. He was arrested and shot on July 20, 1944 along with two other Church men.
