Martyr
Priest, martyr in the Minh-Man persecution in Vietnam.
Biography
He was locked in a narrow cage that prevented him from moving, until he was paralyzed and almost starved to death. They insisted that he step on the cross, but as he refused repeatedly, they took him to behead him. He was beatified in 1900 and canonized on October 18, 1987, along with 116 other Vietnamese martyrs, by John Paul II.
