Biography
Spanish Jesuit known as "the apostle of Madrid", José María Rubio dedicated his priesthood to bringing God's mercy to people of all conditions. He spent long hours in the confessional, preached the Gospel with simplicity and ministered pastorally and socially to the poorest neighborhoods of the capital. He formed lay people to coherently live their faith in the family, work and society, and promoted various works of prayer and apostolate. His spiritual motto was to do what God wants and want what God does.
