Saint Joseph the Worker
Worker
The feast of Saint Joseph the Worker presents the carpenter of Nazareth as a model for everyone who serves God through honest labor.
Biography
By his daily work, Joseph provided for Jesus and Mary, developed human skills, served his neighbors, and cooperated quietly in the mystery of salvation. Christian faith does not treat work merely as a burden or a means of earning money. Work can become service, participation in God’s creative care, and a path to holiness when it is done competently, justly, and for love.
Practical advice
Trusting in God’s grace, correct charitably a fault that should not be ignored, remembering that holiness is built in ordinary life.
