religious
Orphaned by unknown parents and raised in charitable institutions in Havana, José Olallo Valdés entered the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God as a teenager.
Biography
He served for fifty-four years in the Camagüey hospital, first as a nurse and later as a community leader.
