Economist, university professor, Italian husband and father, José Toniolo showed that research and public life can be at the service of the Gospel.
Biography
Married to María Schiatti and father of seven children, he made his home a path of holiness. As a teacher he studied economics from the perspective of human dignity, defended the rights of workers and promoted the social action of Catholics. He promoted associations, conferences and a culture inspired by the social doctrine of the Church. His intense prayer sustained an intellectual activity that never separated faith from professional responsibility.
