Josefina Gabriela Bonino (1843–1906)
Secular
Josefina Gabriela Bonino cared for her sick parents for years and discovered in that experience a vocation to reproduce the charity of the Holy Family.
Biography
After being freed from her family responsibilities, she founded the Sisters of the Holy Family of Savigliano in Italy. The community took in homeless girls, the sick, and people who needed to experience a family environment. Josefina understood that human beings hunger for love as well as bread and that the Christian community must offer stable bonds, education and tenderness.
Practical advice
Make someone feel like family today: invite them to your table, call them by their name and listen to how they really are.
