Juan Balicki (1869–1948)

Polish priest, professor of theology and rector of the Przemyśl seminary, John Balicki combined rigorous study, prayer and personal accompaniment.
Biography
He trained generations of priests, preached with depth and dedicated many hours to the confessional. He especially sought out those who had distanced themselves from the Church and attended to both their spiritual and material needs. His authority was born from humility and a contemplative life that sustained academic work. He showed that teaching theology is not just about transmitting concepts, but about leading concrete people towards truth and mercy.
