A young Italian parish priest and martyr of Nazism, Juan Fornasini transformed his parish into a "charity workshop" during World War II.
Biography
Ordained in 1942, he helped displaced people, the elderly and children, brought sacraments to those living in hiding and repeatedly interceded with German soldiers to free prisoners. During the Monte Sole massacres he traveled dangerous roads to assist his people and bury the victims. On October 13, 1944, he accompanied an officer to San Martino de Caprara and was murdered there. He was twenty-nine years old and died carrying out a work of mercy.
