Juan Nepomuceno Zegrí y Moreno (1831–1905)
Mercedarian priest
Granada priest, Juan Nepomuceno Zegrí y Moreno founded the Mercedarian Sisters of Charity to be "visible providence" for orphans, the sick, the elderly, prisoners and abandoned people.
Biography
A zealous preacher and parish priest, he wanted the redeeming charity of Christ to reach wherever there was suffering. Unfair accusations separated him from the government of the congregation and he spent his last years without fully recovering his work. He endured this test with obedience and forgiveness, without denying the mission received. His life teaches to serve even when the fruit remains in the hands of others.
Practical advice
Continue supporting a good work even if someone else receives the recognition you expected.
