Juan Schiavo (1903–1967)
missionary priest
Italian priest of the Josefinos of Murialdo and missionary in Brazil, Juan Schiavo dedicated his life to the formation of religious and the accompaniment of working communities.
Biography
Sent to Rio Grande do Sul, he was master of novices, director, parish priest and first provincial superior. He defended workers against injustice, even when this forced his community to leave a parish. He promoted seminars, schools and the female branch of the Murialdina family. His availability was summarized in a constant prayer: wanting the will of the Father in everything.
