Juan Torres Torres and 19 fellow martyrs (†1936)
Martyr priests
Twenty diocesan priests from Ibiza and Formentera gave their lives during the religious persecution of 1936.
Biography
They had served as parish priests, trainers and pastors close to their communities, and were murdered solely for their priestly status. Juan Torres Torres, the youngest and head of the cause, had been ordained just two months before; He refused to renounce his faith and died on August 7 proclaiming his fidelity to Christ.
