She was the daughter of Alfonso V, and legitimate heir to the crown of Portugal.
Biography
Feeling called to religious life, she entered the Dominican monastery of Aveiro. The king ordered that he be deprived of the habit when he became seriously ill. She was brought to court when a plague was raging; She managed, however, to have six nuns accompany her with whom she continued her monastic practices. Upon the death of the king, he returned to the Dominican monastery, where, at last, he had the joy of making his profession.
