French religious, Juana Isabel Bichier des Ages founded the Daughters of the Cross to educate girls and care for the sick in the villages.
Biography
During the French Revolution he helped protect the family heritage and participated clandestinely in sacramental life. In 1797 he met Saint Andrew Hubert Fournet, who directed his desire for a contemplative life towards the active service of the poor. Together they started a community that quickly spread through numerous dioceses. A poorly performed operation left her in pain and physical disability for years, but she continued to govern and encourage the work with strength, Eucharistic devotion, and charity.
