Martyrs
They are the martyred brothers of Alcalá de Henares, Spain, who died during the persecution of Diocletian.
Biography
These two young children, believed to be around seven or nine years old, were beheaded on the outskirts of the town, where a basilica stands today. A sonnet by Lope de Vega says about them: Two lambs to heaven sacrifice the First Fruits of countless saints. Justo and Pastor are patrons of Alcalá and the diocese of Madrid.
