Practical advice

In a spirit of service, prudently fulfill a responsibility that others have entrusted to you and end with a brief thanksgiving.

Biography

Father Leopolde was born in Herzog Novi near the important port of Kotor, Dalmatia, and was the last of twelve children. At the age of 16 he entered the Capuchin seminary of Udine, where he was ordained eight years later. In 1909 he was transferred to Padua, as a priest confessor. And there he remained all his life. In the homily of Pope John Paul II, during his canonization on October 16, 1983, he said: "Saint Leopold did not leave theological or literary works, he was not dazzled by his culture or founded social works. For those who knew him, he was only a poor friar, small and sickly. His greatness consisted of something else: in immolating himself and giving himself day by day throughout his priestly life, that is, 52 years in the silence, intimacy and humility of a confessional". Brother Leopoldo was always there at disposal, smiling, prudent and modest, discreet confidant and faithful father of souls, respectful teacher and spiritual advisor, understanding and patient.
