Luis Biraghi, priest (1801–1879)

Priest

Italian priest and educator, Luis Biraghi understood that the Christian formation of women was decisive to renew the family and society.

Biography

Ordained in 1825, he taught in seminaries and was spiritual director of future priests, whom he formed with the example of his love for Christ, the Church and the truth. He participated in Catholic journalism and studied Christian history and archaeology. Together with Marina Videmari, she founded the Marceline Sisters, dedicated to educating young women through close coexistence between teachers and students. He faced the tensions of his time with prudence, charity and ecclesial obedience.
