Biography
Canadian bishop of Saint-Hyacinthe, Luis Ceferino Moreau combined an intense interior life with the organization of numerous pastoral works. Of peasant origin and fragile health, he was ordained a priest and served as secretary, diocesan administrator and parish priest before receiving the episcopacy. He promoted synods, the training of the clergy and lay mutual aid associations. She founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph and collaborated in other religious communities to respond to the educational and healthcare needs of a growing society.
