Luis Novarese (1914–1984)
Priest
Italian priest, Luis Novarese helped to understand that sick people are not only recipients of assistance, but protagonists of the mission of the Church.
Biography
A serious illness suffered in his youth allowed him to know pain, hope and recovery from within. He founded the Marian Priestly League, the Volunteers of Suffering and the Silent Workers of the Cross, promoting spiritual care, rehabilitation and active participation. He taught how to unite the best possibilities of medicine with the human and Christian value of those who suffer.
