Louis Orione (1872–1940)
missionary priest
Italian priest and former student of Saint John Bosco, Luis Orione founded the Little Work of Divine Providence and the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity.
Biography
He opened schools, oratories and homes for orphans, people with disabilities, the elderly and those affected by earthquakes. He especially wanted to serve those who seemed to have no place in society and strengthen their union with the Church and the Pope. He trusted in Providence, but that trust drove him to work tirelessly. His charity spread from Italy to Latin America and other countries.
